TS Eliot's Tradition and the Individual Talent

Kanye West's new album, which Pitchfork gave a 10.0, the first for a new album in eight years

Buzzfeed's compilation of every album that's ever received a 10.0 from Pitchfork

Pretty interesting conversation on the canon, and the role experts play in its development, and other such things.

I didn't realize their listed 10.0's were so ... safe. Only a handful of those albums aren't reissues of classics.

I know some albums originally received lower scores, and were later revised up (http://web.archive.org/web/20010108235800/http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/record-reviews/n/neutral-milk-hotel/in-the-aeroplane-over-the-sea.shtml); and I could swear I've seen some 10.0 reviews that I came back to later and they were lower.
